Join us for Lake Friendly Living Awareness Day


Join OWLA and the Owasco Lake Watershed Management Council for a day of free activities for the whole family! See Science in Action, join planting, weeding and coloring activities and learn how to protect the water quality of Owasco Lake. Come out with friends and family to Owasco Lake as we celebrate Lake Friendly Living Awareness month across the Finger Lakes.
Location: Emerson Park - meet at the main pavilion - 6877 East Lake Rd, Auburn NY
Date and Time: Saturday, May 17, 2025 - 10am-1pm
Come for all or just part of the time! Light refreshments will be provided.

Help Grow Our Rain Garden: Learn about the importance of Rain Gardens and meet neighbors as you help plant and weed our rain garden. We'll have garden coloring sheets for the little ones.
Water Testing Demonstration: Watch our water monitoring team at work and learn about maintaining the quality of our drinking water. Perhaps you would like to join this team!
Biomonitoring Viewing: View the aquatic life in the streams that feed into Owasco Lake with the Community Science Institute. They will bring a water sample from a nearby stream and describe the importance of clean water and the creatures that thrive in healthy streams.
We will provide:

Water - please bring your water bottle to refill

Gardening gloves and tool
