A Few Of Our Prior Accomplishments Include...

Pressured the modernization and upgrade of the Moravia Sewage Treatment Plant to handle more waste from the Moravia Prison.

Base line water quality testing was made under the NYSDEC's CSLAP program:
bi weekly monitoring of various water quality parameters over the last 7 years.

Weekly coliform testing has been done since 1992 by over 20 OWL volunteers for twelve weeks each summer in conjunction with the City of Auburn.  This activity helped heighten awareness of water quality at our beaches and ititiated the formation of the Owasco Lake Task Force. This data is now computerixed.

Active input was made to the City and County on preventive action plans to delay infestation of Zebra Mussels in Owasco Lake.  This has been successful so far!

Research, monitoring, and lobbying on the proposal by Smith Corona to dump waste water into Owasco Inlet has been made.
